We had an absolutely fantastic time
Both Altezza and the safari company were very professional and gave us wonderful service. The guides and porters were a pleasure to be with and gave us good insight of life in Tanzania as well as detailed info about Kili. Thank you Steve and Mountain Kingdoms for organising the trip for us, it all ran very smoothly. A very well organised trip. We loved the small group, three of us plus one other, we got on well and moved at a similar pace.
A wild adventure!
The Tien Shan (the Mountains of Heaven or the Heavenly Mountains) are without doubt one of the most beautiful mountain ranges I have trekked within. At lower altitudes the mountain views are incredible; steep valley slopes are decorated with lush green grass and dense fir trees; glacier melt water flows at speed through picture-perfect valleys and evidence of working nomadic life is all around. At higher altitudes, and in particular on the South Inylchek Glacier, the snow-capped peaks of the Tien Shan Mountains are scenes I will never forget. The journey up the glacier is indeed 'a journey' and a chance to absorb, experience and understand the pure power and meaning of an impressive glacier life cycle. This adventure is one I will always cherish.
Unforgettable trip to a very remote region: this is real Nepal
As my second trip to Nepal after Everest Base Camp, I must say it has been an incredibile adventure. This trek takes you to a very remote region, with very different landscapes (from tropical rainforests to dramatic Himalayan peaks), passing through low-populated valleys where people are friendly and genuine. Be prepared to long days with many ascents and descents. The rote to the Base Camps is blessed with incredibile autumn colours in Oct-Nov. Kangchenjunga is well hidden behind a court of incredibile rocky walls towering 7.000 mt (Chang Himal face is amazing and very close, when you walk on the edge of the glacier). Our guide Raj, the 2 sirdars and the cook were very attentive, and all the porters did a great and tough job. Finally, MK was very good in solving the logistic difficulties related to the remoteness of the region. Definitely recommended if you want to experience remote far Eastern Nepal.
Definitive Cultural Tour of Bhutan, December 2018
A truly amazing experience. A well- paced itinerary, an excellent guide and driver, who enabled us to get a real feel of the country, its culture, traditions and people.
Druk Path Trek
Logistics brilliant for a large camping trek involving animals in very remote area. Great combination of remote trekking and sightseeing. Very good sirdar. Also group seemed to bond well so whole trip was a lot of fun and made some good friends.
Hidden Valleys of Bhutan
It was well organised and all the stress was taken out of the holiday. The guide leader was probably the best guide we have ever had.
Complete Patagonia - Paine & Fitz Roy
Stunning scenery; varied and well paced walks interspersed with excellent sight seeing days; attentive and well informed guides; good accommodation; lots of laughs with a great group.
Wild dogs on foot
A really satisfying active safari in a stunning location. I loved walking from camp to camp and we encountered some impressive wildlife including the painted wolf pack filmed for David Attenborough's Dynasties series.
The trip was well thought out and organised
The different places we visited provided a good introduction to Japan. We especially liked travelling by public transport, (not by road in a coach or minibus), staying in the minshuku and ryokan, and the meals provided there. It was our first visit to Japan and we would like to go again.
Amazing experience going to Annapurna Sanctuary (Nov 2018)
Our holiday was one of those experiences that we will not forget and we made friends that we have have stayed in touch with after our return. We had unseasonal snow that made the trek more challenging and added an element of risk. The guides and porters were superb and nothing was too much trouble. The tea houses were more basic than we expected and the food was OK. It was great coming back to Dwarika's at the end for a touch of luxury. We added the Bhutan extension which was absolutely superb. The scenery and monuments were superb and we had a great guide. A very good addition to the ABC in style.
Annapurna in Style
Excellent
Abc in style
It was an adventure. We did not expect so much snow and ice and felt a bit unequipped. Leader and porters were brilliant. Tea houses would have been so much better with a heater in the dining room, and hot showers were in very short supply even at someofthe lodges. In style was mostly the hotels
A wonderful trip
This trip was extremely well organised and all the travel arrangements etc worked perfectly. Aya was a very good guide giving us loads of insights into local culture and making requested amendments to the itinerary (we only asked for a few small ones!) with conscientiousness and good humour. The group size was ideal and everybody was very friendly and helpful to each other. Overall this was a wonderful trip in so many ways and I shall never forget it. Japan is such a beautiful and exciting country - made extra special by weather to die for, almost continuous wall to wall blue skies and warm sunshine every day but one!
Well organised and guided trekking through amazing scenery
The way the trekking staff worked as a team and were really helpful and friendly--and adaptable! All in all a great holiday--would thoroughly recommend
A wonderful experience!
This was a wonderful trip and an experience I will remember for a long time, particularly the climb up to the Tiger's Nest Monastery! We were very lucky to have Tshering as our tour leader, a very experienced guide and a really nice man. Everything went smoothly, thanks to the hard work he put in behind the scenes. Thanks to Mountain Kingdoms for offering such a good trip.
Langtang and the Laurebina La
A very enjoyable trek in stunningly beautiful mountain scenery. The itinerary allowed excellent acclimatisation in the Langtang valley, so we were well prepared for the more rapid ascent to Gosainkund and over the Laurebina La pass. The debris of the 2015 landslide that destroyed Langtang village is sobering, but the locals are now ready and keen for trekkers to return. Our local sherpa guide was excellent, and all travel arrangements, including for a personalised extension in India, worked smoothly.
Private Departure - Mind, body and spirit all deeply nourished!
I had dreamt of going to Bhutan for many years and ALL my hopes and expectations were met! It is a real jewel of a country, in such sharp contrast to India and Nepal (which I also love!). The landscape is, of course, stunning, the Bhuddist culture is rich and embracing, and the history and politics, not least the GNH, are deeply thought-provoking and optimistic. We only scratched the surface in two short weeks, but our itinerary and our wonderful guide have left me with an enriching and mind-expanding insight into a country with a very exciting approach to development.
Three Peaks of the Balkans
The trekking was wonderful and the route fantastic with spectacular scenery.
Gentle Walking Canadian Rockies
Claude worked really hard to give us a good experience of Canada. He organised our accommodation, transport and food really well. He cooked, drove us everywhere, planned our walks. He was always cheerful and pleasant and fun to be with. Claude is very knowledgeable about the area. Because of the weather, he had to organise alternative routes for us to walk and did this without any difficulty. We have travelled with MK before and have always been impressed with the quality of the in-country staff.
Seeing the majestic and unforgetable Canadian Rockies
Having a fantastic guide in Claude Deschamps who cleverly tweaked our walking itinerary when we found ourselves in the middle if the coldest September weather in Alberta for 60 years! We enjoyed the snow which only enhanced the beauty of our surroundings. We also very much enjoyed the "gin club" and the cosy evening meals in the Pine Bungalows at Jasper cooked by Claude. This bonded our group of 11 really well.
