Over £7,800 raised for Nepal at Wilderness Lectures

On June 22nd 2015 Wilderness lectures and the University of Bristol Mountaineering Club hosted a very special evening in aid of Nepal following April’s tragic earthquake. A Night for Nepal was organised to raise money to help those affected.
The evening was a great success, with an impressive grand total of £7808.02 raised as a result of the event. During the evening there was an auction of six authenticated pictures by photographer Paul Donovan and a 1976 ‘Conquer Everest’ board game, a raffle with lots of fantastic prizes kindly donated, and presentations by 10 speakers on their experiences in Nepal and the Himalaya, including Mountain Kingdoms’ Managing Director, Steve Berry.
The money raised will help support the following charities in Nepal:
- SHIVA Charity
- The Gurkha Welfare Trust
- Community Action Nepal
- PHASE Worldwide
- The Glacier Trust
- Disasters Emergency Committee
Well done everyone and thank you all for your generosity.
