Mountain Kingdoms sponsors the Severn Bridge Half Marathon

On Sunday 24th August Mountain Kingdoms kindly sponsored the Severn Bridge Half Marathon, in which 2000 keen runners took part. Mountain Kingdoms donated £700 towards the event, which will benefit many charities including St. David's Foundation and Barnardo's.
Impressively, since the Severn Bridge opened in 1966, this is the first ever time that the bridge has been closed to traffic for a running event.
The first runner to complete the route was Stephen Paterson of Les Croupiers Running Club, with an impressive time of 1 hour, 14 minutes and 26 seconds. Each runner received a locally made ceramic medal, a memento technical t-shirt, and a goody bag.
As this was a historic first ever running race across the bridge, it proved very successful following over a year of hard work and planning by the organisers, with the event receiving an overwhelming amount of positive feedback.
To all of those that took part, well done! Also, a well done to Mountain Kingdoms own running enthusiast, Niki, for dedicating her spare time to help out at the event.
