Fantastic trek in the High Atlas
Fantatstic trek in the High Atlas, with an astonishing passage of the M'goun gorges.
Mountains and gorges in Morocco
The mountain scenery and the M'goun Gorges were the highlight of the trip.
Wonderful trip in Turkey
This was the first time I took trip with Mountain Kingdoms, I did not have high expectation for this trip as the trip cost was very low (comparing to providers in US). However, to my surprise, the trip turned out to be WONDERFUL! We had great transportation, great and knowledgeable guides, charming hotels, and, good and plentiful food. The hiking was great and as described in the brochure and pre-trip document. I am sure that I will consider Mountain Kingdoms' trip in the future.
Enjoyed the scenery
I particularly enjoyed the scenery and variety of trekking.
Well organised trek in Morocco
The Guide was very knowledgeable the trip is very well organised and interesting, each day is different, The food on trek was delicious and very varied nothing was repeated also plenty of it, The Muleteers were excellent ensuring the camp was always set up on Arrival.
Dana to Petra - the best trek we've done
Probably the best trek we have done. Beautiful scenery, excellent food, great walking, wonderful team - we felt very well looked over.
Cappadocia - stunning scenery and interesting sights
Having previously visited Cappadocia in 2005, it did not give me the same thrill the second time around. However I can see that for a first visit, the scenery would be stunning. The underground city at Kaymakli was amazing. The Sufi Centre and the Caravanserai at Konya were both very interesting and well worth a visit. Also meeting the herdsman, his family and his goats was fun.
Everything I hoped for on our Silk Road tour
The small group made moving about really easy. Loved Khiva hotel Caravan run by family. Our guide was exceptional and made every day an adventure with her knowledge and sense of humour. Long or short story will bring back memories. Our mini-bus driver made light work of the roads and laughed a lot. The trip to the mountains was amazing. The whole trip was everything I had hoped for. Friendly people, lovely food, sights you can only dream of. All in all, I want to go back!
Superlative guide and enormous fun on the Silk Road
This holiday was always enormous fun from the very start. We knew the sights, bazaars and architecture would be stunning and they were, breathtaking blue and turquoise tiles and decoration did not disappoint. What caught us by surprise was how wonderful and friendly the people are too. The children learn English in school and we loved it when they shyly came to practice a few words with us. Our superlative guide taught us so much about Uzbek life and history, and how to haggle!
Silk Road - an excellent, well-paced itinerary
It was an excellent itinerary and well paced. We were pleased that there were 'rest' days - we needed them! It was also good to see the top craft workshops and to be shown round by the top people. The traditional dance show in Samarkand was a delight, especially as we were on the front row! But what really made the trip was our guide, Shakhnoza who made it all so interesting.
Top care on Kili
We were cared for very well by all the guides and porters. The walk was through extraordinary vegetation and different zones as we gained height on Kilimanjaro.
Great variety of experiences in Sri Lanka
Great variety of places and experiences covered on the tour. From temples and ancient monuments to wildlife and snorkelling. Plenty of exercise too if wanted. Some steep climbs alongside the gentle walking. Lovely hotels - small and perfectly formed.
Zanskar Dream Trek - unlike any previous trek I've done
A truly unique experience, unlike any previous trek I've done. Remote, challenging, more like a mini expedition it certainly pushed me to my limits and perhaps a little beyond on occasions. The trek team were excellent, certainly the best I've ever had, and the scenery was just amazing. If you're looking for a challenge, don't mind some "exciting" paths and want some of the best mountain scenery around, this is the trek for you.
Spectacular Zanskar!
Spectacular mountain scenery.
A great trip in Uzbekistan
We were blown away by the fascinating sights in Khiva, Bukhara & Samarkand. The spectacles just got better and better as we progressed, the Registan being the jewel in the crown. The Uzbek dishes served in the city restaurants followed a set pattern but were varied, the salads being a particular hit. Spending time in the quiet mountain regions away from the bustle of the tourist sites was a welcome contrast. We loved the homestays in Nuratau, especially the creative home cooking. A great trip.
Incredible guides on Kilimanjaro
The scenery was fantastic throughout the different stages and with such vast blue skies. The guides and support crew were incredible, the encouragement and help we got from them made sure there was no doubting our abilities. From our morning cups of tea, our morning tea stops in some glorious location, to the delicious food that the cook prepared and the thoughtful hot water bottles at night - this was a well organised trek. The summit morning was so worth it. Thank you so much MK.
Tailor Made Silk Road Tour
The local organiser and the guides were excellent, and all travel plans ran smoothly.
An adventure in Ladakh
Not so much a holiday as an adventure, with stunning scenery and a few heart-stopping roads. Endlessly fascinating with mostly comfortable hotels and many lovely people. The sort of trip where you come back with stories to share, as well as photos.
Small group advantage in Ladakh
The drive up from Shimla to Leh was breathtaking in many ways - not only the amazing scenery but travelling along roads which were challenging after the monsoon rains had caused havoc with landslides and road surfaces washed away. Fortunately we had a brilliant driver in Suresh. Often our small group were the only people staying in hotels en route which made the tour seem very pioneering and adventurous. Being in a small group also allowed us to set our own pace and follow up on interests.
Kilimanjaro climb - Highly recommended!
I really liked: Impeccable service and support by the trek team, couldnt be faulted. I felt in safe hands at all times and was guided and looked after by a personal guide during the entire trip being by 20-25 years older than the other 4 ladies in my group...This was the hardest adventure ever undertaken. I wasnt sure Id make it but I returned home with just a minor cold. Highly recommended !
