Silk Road to Samarkand Tour

An unforgettable trip!

Such an interesting trip and we learnt about so many areas of interest - Silk Road, history of Uzbekistan and Central Asia, geography of country, current socio and economic factors, soviet history, Islamic architecture and religion, foods, crops and crafts. The knowledge and care from our guide coupled with a safe driver and such good hotels and restaurants and warm friendly Uzbek people resulted in an unforgettable trip.

Albania & the Balkans Trek

The whole itinerary was well thought out.

The accommodation was just excellent, a good variety but all of a high standard. Whilst the historic buildings were more interesting, the modern hotels provided a good contrast, if anything enhancing the enjoyment of the more historic hotels. The food too was consistently good. Taking the two nights with a bit of luxury worked well too...The whole itinerary was well thought out.

Camino de Santiago - the Northern Way

Wonderful scenery!

A beautiful route through rural northern Spain, the Northern Way has everything: wonderful scenery, fantastic food, great places to stay, friendly locals and an interesting history. This route offers an insight into the rural existence here, that insight being enhanced by our knowledgeable guide. It is worth taking an extra day or two in Santiago either at the outset, as we did, or at the end.

Camino de Santiago - the Northern Way

A wonderful trip.

A wonderful trip. Everything was well organised: the pre-trip information, the flexibility of booking extra days before and after the walk, and our excellent guide who took care of everything whilst we were in Spain. This was much more than a walking holiday - it was a shared experience which we started walking with strangers and ended with friends.

Camino de Santiago - the Northern Way

Well organised and a great guide.

Fantastic company. Well organised and a great guide. Didn’t need to worry about a thing except my walking gear and keeping up my energy!

Definitive Cultural Tour of Nepal

A trip we would heartily recommend (Private Itinerary)

A very varied itinerary which allowed us to visit many of the amazing natural, historical, religious and cultural highlights of Nepal. Our guides and drivers throughout the trip were warm, welcoming and went the extra mile to make sure we had great experiences, sharing their beautiful country with us. A special thanks goes to Chhakamaya and Bel who were so generous with their time on the Pokhara-Chitwan section of the trip and Jaresh, our guide at the Barahi Jungle Lodge. Hotels were all good, especially the Dwarika’s Hotel in Kathmandu where the farewell dinner was a true feast of authentic Nepalese cuisine. Everyone involved at the UK end were friendly, efficient and helpful throughout the booking process, producing a number of changes in the itinerary so that we could maximise our time in the places we had greatest interest in visiting. A trip we would heartily recommend.

Definitive Cultural Tour of Bhutan

One of the best tours I've been on.

One of the best tours I've been on. The country was stunningly beautiful and the history, culture, art & architecture lived up to all expectations. The local flora and fauna were equally fascinating. It felt like a real privilege to visit this kingdom.

Manaslu Circuit Trek, Nepal

An outstanding trek.

An outstanding trek for varied mountain scenery and cultural interest. Good lodges with great local food. Really good companions on the trail. Porters and guides showed great support and good judgement in inclement weather.

Druk Path Trek

Bhutan is a very special destination.

Bhutan is a very special destination and any trip there is a treat and a privilege. This trip had a good balance of fairly demanding camping at high altitude and then time to relax and recover in comfy hotels with lovely food and interesting cultural visits.

Manaslu Circuit Trek, Nepal

Superb scenery.

Superb scenery, great mix of people on the trek, who were all good company, and a fantastic, very hard working crew. Overall, a great experience despite the weather and, consequently, having to turn back before the pass.

Gentle Walking Eastern Bhutan

Bhutan was an unforgettable experience

Bhutan was an unforgettable, other-worldly experience. I feel very privileged to have been able to go there, to sample its fascinating culture and architecture. The journey to Eastern Bhutan was absolutely worth the effort. Mountain Kingdoms provided an excellent package - the guide was excellent, and our transport and accommodation were mostly very good. I am grateful to MK and especially our guide Bhakta Gangtey for arranging the whole trip - especially to the East. A wonderful experience and a privilege to visit such an interesting country.

Easter Island & Patagonia

A stunningly beautiful island.

I remember reading Thor Hyerdahl's book Aku Aku when I was about 14 years old. I thought it was the best book I’d ever read and it left an indelible impression on me. Later I saw a re-run of Thor Hyerdahls Kon Tiki film and I promised myself that one day I would visit Easter Island. It did not disappoint, it is a stunningly beautiful island and the mystery still remains.

Albania & the Balkans Trek

Authentic Hospitality.

I particularly loved staying in the traditional guesthouses along the way. The welcome couldn't have been warmer and their meals, produced from home-grown ingredients, were absolutely delicious.

North to South Vietnam

A great insight in to Vietnam.

This tour gave a great insight into Vietnam, with beautiful food, culture and scenery it was a trip to remember. Ha Long Bay was a definite highlight for me, the crew were fantastic and always helpful. I was able to immerse myself in the peacefulness of Trang An and explore the treasures of Hanoi.

Naar Phu Circuit Trek

Nothing short of epic.

The Naar Phu Circuit Trek was nothing short of epic, and undoubtedly my best trek to date. The remoteness, scenery and welcoming nature of the locals was second to none. The climb over the Kang La pass was challenging, but the views from the top were sublime. I would highly recommend this trek to anyone with a sense of adventure and those wanting to explore a lesser-known trekking route in Nepal.

The Five Stans Tour of Central Asia

You won't be disappointed!

I urge you to go and see this vast, remarkable, diverse, and completely compelling region of the world for yourself. You won’t be disappointed!

Gentle Walking Eastern Bhutan

Eastern Bhutan is a very special area.

Eastern Bhutan is a very special area, refreshingly 'un-touristy'. Many of the villages still retain a traditional life and culture with subsistence farming, simple stores selling food and hardware products. I loved the craft workshops - weaving, wood-carving. The beauty of the houses with the care of carving and painting as with the temples never ceased to amaze. The care of the work, the time taken is something lost in our Western world.

Would return in a heartbeat!

Namibia is just magnificent. The dramatic landscapes are wonderfully varied, the lodges excellent and you're given a warm welcome everywhere you go. I've been lucky enough to visit Namibia twice and I would return again in a heartbeat.

It's like travelling back in time.

After the high-tech bustle of Japanese urban life, trekking the Nakasendo trail is like travelling back in time. The old postal towns have beautiful wooden architecture and in the winter the backdrop of snow covered mountains make walking there a joy. After the crisp, cold mountain air, relaxing in an onsen (spa bath) is a very special experience.

Once in a lifetime trip!

This trek is an extraordinary experience: close-up and personal views of Bhutan's second highest mountain and its dazzling satellite peaks, remote valleys steeped in history, one of Bhutan's holiest lakes literally ringed by mountains where you can actually feel time is standing still, and many a glorious pass to cross, all culminating in the sensational descent to Tiger's Nest.
