From the moment we landed, we were greeted with the most beautiful vista, not only the mountain scenery but the stunning, intricately painted buildings, this was the theme of the tour, a feast for the eyes. If this wasn’t enough the care and attention from our guide was impeccable, his knowledge and clear love of his country was immense, no question unanswered without passion, pride and often humour. A lot is packed into the trip, the mixture of sightseeing monasteries/ Dzongs/temples but also the lovely nature walks were perfect for me, some of the walking was quite strenuous, but the uphill made the downhill more enjoyable. You’re really looked after, always felt safe, our driver was careful, skilful and fun too. The hotels were great with very attentive staff and again felt very safe and looked after.
Seeing places I had heard about and studied. Meeting friendly people and experiencing their lives, learning some of their skills and eating the food. Really well planned trip.
Contrary to most other tour operators, this trek starts by following the Modi River up into the Sanctuary. The return branches off at Chomrong to swing west towards Ghorepani and finishes with the ascent of Poon Hill. This allows for better acclimatisation. The whole route is well planned to ensure it is achievable. The supporting team was lovely, always smiling, and nothing too much bother. Altogether an amazing and truly memorable experience.
Excellent holiday. Great to acclimatise in the sacred valley as altitude does affect you and also great information about local culture and Inca civilisation. Good to see the sites before seeing Machu Picchu. Lovely trek terrain easy enough under foot in dry conditions. Amazing lodges with wonderful food I even put on weight. Extremely friendly staff and wonderful guide with great knowledge.
Fantastic holiday. Archeological sites were so interesting and guide was excellent. Trek was the highlight. Views magnificent and lodges very comfortable with excellent food. Again our guide was brilliant. Machu Picchu was amazing. Jungle experience was also outstanding. Facilities were great.
The 2 hotels at the beginning and end of the holiday were wonderful as was the boat- lovely food, friendly staff and ship mates and great excursions to places that tourists rarely visit.
Bhutan is so different. Mountainous and wooded, where everybody is friendly and relaxed (the Buddist culture, in a relatively underpopulated and wealthy country). Spectacular Dzongs and colourful welcoming temples.
A strenuous but fully rewarding trip, with a diversity of landscapes that culminates with Kanchenjunga South Base Camps that takes your breath away. The outstanding Nepalese people living in harsh conditions and doing their best to accommodate the trekkers wishes.
An excellent well-paced tour of the major cities and impressive sites and monuments of the Silk Road in Uzbekistan. We especially liked the chance to have a free day in each location with the opportunity for further individual exploration. The optional excursion to Shakrisabz and Langar was worthwhile to go closer to the mountains and give a view of village life.
The trek was fantastic. with a variety of landscapes from lush forested hills, dramatic river valleys, a beautiful Buddhist village, characterful tea houses, and amazing snow-covered mountains, especially Kanchenjunga and Jammu, Our guide, assistant guide, and porters were all fabulous, always ready to help and keen to show off their stunning country. It was a perfect trip.
