A really good insight into the culture and landscapes of Bhutan

The holiday gave us a really good insight into the culture and landscapes of Bhutan. It was very varied and we saw some beautiful places and buildings. It was totally different from other places we had been.

No question unanswered without passion, pride and often humour.

From the moment we landed, we were greeted with the most beautiful vista, not only the mountain scenery but the stunning, intricately painted buildings, this was the theme of the tour, a feast for the eyes. If this wasn’t enough the care and attention from our guide was impeccable, his knowledge and clear love of his country was immense, no question unanswered without passion, pride and often humour. A lot is packed into the trip, the mixture of sightseeing monasteries/ Dzongs/temples but also the lovely nature walks were perfect for me, some of the walking was quite strenuous, but the uphill made the downhill more enjoyable. You’re really looked after, always felt safe, our driver was careful, skilful and fun too. The hotels were great with very attentive staff and again felt very safe and looked after.

Spectacular Dzongs and colourful welcoming temples.

Bhutan is so different. Mountainous and wooded, where everybody is friendly and relaxed (the Buddist culture, in a relatively underpopulated and wealthy country). Spectacular Dzongs and colourful welcoming temples.

An exceptional holiday to Bhutan.

An exceptional holiday. Such a delightful contrast of culture, festivals, information and history. Travelling across the country with beautiful scenery and a warm welcome from everyone. Our guide was so informative, good company and attentive to every detail. Thoroughly enjoyed the walking.

Bhutan - a unique experience

I wouldnt call the trip a holiday - I think its best described as a unique experience - seeing a little bit of Bhutan's wonderful life and how structured their country is. Certain elements of the trip will live with us forever.

Bhutan: people and scenery

The scenery was fabulous - and the people, wonderful

A new high in Bhutan

We have enjoyed numerous holidays among mountains around the world (several of them with MK) but for its combination of easy walking amidst stunning scenery and insights into a fascinating culture, our two weeks in Bhutan marked a new high. Our local guide was simply fantastic, a wonderful companion and mine of information whether leading us down forest trails graced by unfamiliar flowers and birds, or explaining the significance of paintings and statues at stunning temples and fortresses.

Private Itinerary Bhutan - Loved it!

Our guides were really awesome guys. Very competent, knowledgeable and kind. We loved the hiking in rural areas, historic temples, friendly local people, good healthy food and Himalayan mountain scenery.

Everything was a highlight on our private holiday in Bhutan

It's hard to pick out highlights. The whole experience was unforgettable, a once-in-a-lifetime holiday. Our guide and driver were exemplary. The landscapes were amazing. The initial treks were very challenging but prepared us well for the final descent to the Tiger's Nest Monastery. The decision to stay in 2 homestays was the right one, as we relished the opportunity to meet families, eat with them, and I spent a very happy evening chatting to 2 children, hearing about a 12 yr old's ambitions.
