Our grading system explained
- Expedition Grade
Summer or winter, there is always something to excite the keen adventurer in Norway and its Arctic north – and you only need a week to sample some of the many outdoor activities that it offers in abundance.
In the Land of the Midnight Sun, the endless days of the summer months are perfect for walking and trekking amidst Norway’s impressive mountain and coastal landscapes. The Lofoten Isalnds are situated off the west coast of the country. Here, steep-sided mountains rise straight out the crystal clear waters, providing excellent day walks from white-sand beach to majestic summit on our Mountains of Lofoten walking holiday.
During the winter months, Norway is blanketed in thick snow and ice making it the perfect destination to try your hand at husky sledding, snow shoeing and sleigh riding. On our Husky Sledding & Northern Lights Adventure you can try your hand at all these activities together with a stay in an ice hotel and hunting for the magical Northern Lights.
North of mainland Norway, en route to the North Pole, lays the archipelago of Svalbard (formerly known as Spitsbergen). This group of islands enjoys significantly higher temperatures than other Arctic areas and provides a home for an impressive variety of wildlife - including the majestic Polar Bear. We offer a range of Arctic cruises of various durations and routes, providing an unbeatable opportunity to view polar bears in their natural habitat along with reindeers, whales and myriad seabirds. You will also experience the dramatic Arctic landscape of glistening glaciers, massive icebergs and deep blue fjords. Take a look at our
