The holiday ran like clockwork. The add on safari and Zanzibar was outstanding. You did us proud. We appreciated this.

I loved the group experience, being with and trekking with other people. We had 11 on our trek - just the right number. It was constantly interesting and entertaining. I loved the camping (without having to think about it).

The ultimate Mount Kilimanjaro trek giving the best possible chance of reaching the elusive summit.

Kilimanjaro and Meru – the two highest peaks in Tanzania, with Kilimanjaro the highest mountain in Africa. Rising up dramatically out of the African scrubland, a trek up Kilimanjaro provides astonishing views out over the surrounding landscape and offers an unmissable chance to stand on the ‘Roof of Africa’. Thousands of mountain lovers climb Kilimanjaro (affectionately known as “Kili”) on a trekking holiday every year, and Mountain Kingdoms provides a Mount Kilimanjaro trek that gives you the best possible chance of reaching the summit.

The ascent of Kilimanjaro (5,892m/19443ft) is achievable by any fit trekker – the key to reaching the top on a Kilimanjaro trek is good altitude acclimatisation. We begin with a trek of Mount Meru (4,562 m/ 15,054ft), giving trekkers an opportunity to gradually adjust to the change in altitude. The rewarding trek to Meru takes us through a series of different vegetation zones, with an abundance of wildlife at lower levels and wonderful views across to our ultimate goal. Leaving Meru we begin our climb to Kilimanjaro on the remote and varied Lemosho route, which leads us via the Shira Plateau and Stella Point to the summit of Kilimanjaro. Trekking to Uhuru Peak amongst the vast glaciers and watching the sun rise over the African plains is a magical experience – the perfect conclusion to your Kilimanjaro trekking holiday.
