Fantatstic trek in the High Atlas, with an astonishing passage of the M'goun gorges.
The mountain scenery and the M'goun Gorges were the highlight of the trip.
This was the first time I took trip with Mountain Kingdoms, I did not have high expectation for this trip as the trip cost was very low (comparing to providers in US). However, to my surprise, the trip turned out to be WONDERFUL! We had great transportation, great and knowledgeable guides, charming hotels, and, good and plentiful food. The hiking was great and as described in the brochure and pre-trip document. I am sure that I will consider Mountain Kingdoms' trip in the future.
I particularly enjoyed the scenery and variety of trekking.
The Guide was very knowledgeable the trip is very well organised and interesting, each day is different, The food on trek was delicious and very varied nothing was repeated also plenty of it, The Muleteers were excellent ensuring the camp was always set up on Arrival.
Probably the best trek we have done. Beautiful scenery, excellent food, great walking, wonderful team - we felt very well looked over.
Having previously visited Cappadocia in 2005, it did not give me the same thrill the second time around. However I can see that for a first visit, the scenery would be stunning. The underground city at Kaymakli was amazing. The Sufi Centre and the Caravanserai at Konya were both very interesting and well worth a visit. Also meeting the herdsman, his family and his goats was fun.
The small group made moving about really easy. Loved Khiva hotel Caravan run by family. Our guide was exceptional and made every day an adventure with her knowledge and sense of humour. Long or short story will bring back memories. Our mini-bus driver made light work of the roads and laughed a lot. The trip to the mountains was amazing. The whole trip was everything I had hoped for. Friendly people, lovely food, sights you can only dream of. All in all, I want to go back!
This holiday was always enormous fun from the very start. We knew the sights, bazaars and architecture would be stunning and they were, breathtaking blue and turquoise tiles and decoration did not disappoint. What caught us by surprise was how wonderful and friendly the people are too. The children learn English in school and we loved it when they shyly came to practice a few words with us. Our superlative guide taught us so much about Uzbek life and history, and how to haggle!
It was an excellent itinerary and well paced. We were pleased that there were 'rest' days - we needed them! It was also good to see the top craft workshops and to be shown round by the top people. The traditional dance show in Samarkand was a delight, especially as we were on the front row! But what really made the trip was our guide, Shakhnoza who made it all so interesting.
