Duration: 16 Days

Combine your itinerary with your preferred hotels or other accommodation. Take a look at the Accommodation section for ideas and inspiration.

Days 1 - 2 After an overnight flight to Nepal's capital city you will be met and taken to your hotel where you can relax and recuperate.
Day 3 A short flight takes you to Pokhara where you meet your trekking guide and drive on to Birethanti. Here you join the rest of your trek crew and step out on the trail. You'll take the rest of the day, mainly uphill, to reach your first overnight tea house in the pretty rural village of Ulleri.
Days 4 - 5 You continue on to the popular ridgetop settlement of Ghorepani for your second night, waking early the next day to make the climb up to Poon Hill for classic sunrise views of the high Himalaya. The sight of the snow-tipped peaks turning pink is unforgettable and you'll no doubt take a lot of photos. After breakfast you return to the trail for a day of ups and downs before reaching Tadapani village.
Days 6 - 7 The Gurung village of Ghandruk provides your next overnight stop, and it's a relatively short trek from Tadapani. The village has strong connections to the Gurkhas and is also a centre of traditional Nepalese weaving. Your final day of trekking in the Annapurnas takes you back to Birethanti where you say farewell to your crew, then drive back to Pokhara.
Day 8 You have time to soak up the laid-back vibe of Pokhara, perhaps taking a boat ride across Lake Phewa Tal or just exploring the streets and shops of this picturesque lakeside town. Later in the day you fly back to your hotel in Kathmandu.
Days 9 - 10 Part two of your holiday begins with the thrilling flight to Lukla, gateway to the Everest region. As soon as you land at the tiny mountain airstrip you meet your trek guide and crew and set off along the Dudh Khosi river to reach your overnight stop at Chumoa, situated just below Thamserku peak. Day 2 sees you climb to the bustling Sherpa town of Namche Bazaar. Halfway up the steep ascent, you can pause, catch your breath and enjoy your first views of Everest - it's a moment to savour.
Days 11 - 12 Over the next two days you trek to Thyangboche Monastery. You will have continuous views of giant Himalayan peaks including Ama Dablam, Kangtaiga and Everest herself. You spend the night at Kyanjuma then make the long descent down to Dudh Khosi River, before climbing again to Thyangboche. In the springtime the trail is lined with colourful rhododendron. The multi-coloured entrance arch of the monastery, and your close-by tea house, is a welcome sight. Here you are at 3,863m so you will feel the thinner air. Thyangboche is in a glorious location on a forested ridge affording it commanding views down the valley to Everest and Ama Dablam. Sunrise here is simply magnificent.
Days 13 - 14 You will be woken by the sound of horns and cymbals as the monks have their first prayer session of the day. You can visit the monastery before heading back to Lukla. You will follow a slightly different route spending a night at Monjo in the Dudh Khosi Valley. Your last night in the mountains will be at Lukla where you can finally relax and celebrate your trekking achievements with a bottle of Everest beer.
Days 15 - 16 With a heavy heart, you board the small plane for the flight back to Kathmandu. You should have time for some final souvenir shopping and sightseeing before catching your flight back home.
