Destination: United States
The classic Wild West landscapes of the American west are familiar from countless TV shows and movies. And yet no screen, however big, can begin to do justice to the epic scale, glorious colours and natural drama of the landscapes of Arizona, Utah and California.
Whether walking through technicolour canyons, driving along the rugged Californian coast, exploring vast forests of giant redwood trees or cycling across high desert mesas - the western states of America offer truly awesome experiences for the outdoor adventurer. In addition to the iconic scenery of the national parks, America also has cosmopolitan cities, fascinating cultural sights and fun attractions for that ideal blend of activity and relaxation.
The familiarity of the States also makes it an incredibly easy place to visit with a shared language (well almost), good food, scenic driving, a great range of accommodation and the warmest of welcomes from the very friendly locals. And, with an abundance of international and domestic flight options, it couldn’t be simpler to create that perfect American adventure.
So, whether you’re a first time visitor looking to tour the classic sights or whether you want to get off the main tourist trail and explore new and exciting places, contact our travel experts and let us tailor make your dream holiday to the United States.

Jim has spent the majority of his working life in the travel industry and after 12 years travelling the world has now returned to where he grew up to join Mountain Kingdoms. His passions are travel, photography, walking and mountain biking. Some of his fondest memories are of trekking in Patagonia and cycle touring down South America.
Kirsty originally joined Mountain Kingdoms in 2006 having successfully completed a trek to Everest Base Camp as a client of the company. Since then she’s visited the Great Wall of China and Argentine Patagonia on reconnaisance treks. The west coast of Canada and the national parks of American are among her favourite places in the world to explore although she finds a good walk in the mountains of Snowdonia hard to beat.
