Destination: Chile

Bordered by the Atacama desert, Andean peaks and almost 4,300km of Pacific ocean, Chile is a uniquely ‘Thin Country’ encompassing a great variety of environments and landscapes. From the glaciers and granite spires of Patagonia, to the lakes and wineries of the central valley and from the high peaks of the Andes to the arid Atacama desert in the far north, Chile can cater to everyone’s tastes. There’s even remote and mysterious Easter Island, lying 2,000 miles off the coast, to add to Chile’s diverse appeal.

For walkers and outdoor enthusiasts of all abilities there is much to explore and discover in each of Chile’s main tourist regions. The cosmopolitan cities of Santiago and Valparaiso, and the nearby picturesque vineyards can be enjoyed on easy-paced walking tours; the lunar-like canyons and volcanoes of the Atacama are ideal for gentle day walks; whilst the trails through the rock pinnacles and glacial lakes of Patagonia provide both challenging trekking and longer hikes.

There’s no need to sacrifice comfort though if you’re travelling in Chile as there is a wide range of well-appointed accommodation with a focus on style and character. Even camping is done in style in the eco domes of the Torres del Paine. Restaurants and café are of the highest quality offering a variety of both traditional Chilean food and international cuisine, accompanied of course by some of the finest wines in the world.

In fact, this South American jewel will leave you simply spoilt for choice. So let us put together your perfect holiday in Chile – selecting the ideal combination of activities and accommodation to meet your budget and timeframe. We can also combine time in Chile with visits to Argentina and Bolivia for an extended Andean adventure of a lifetime.
