North India floods – Oxfam appeal
Extreme weather conditions in Uttarakand, India, disrupted our Operations Manager, Niki Morgan's recent recconaissance trek to the Kuari Pass. Early monsoon rains, thought to be the heaviest in 80 years, have caused mass flooding in northern India. The torrential rain has damaged roads and homes, and triggered landslides. Aware of the devastation this has caused to those caught in the floods, Mountain Kingdoms is donating £500 to Oxfam's India flood relief appeal. Oxfam is providing humanitarian assistance to some of the worst affected.
Our Shipton Tilman route over the Kuari Pass and Nanda Devi approach will feature in our 2014 brochure, with May and October departures. Further details will be available online in August, or contact the office.
