Our grading system explained
- Expedition Grade
Summer or winter, Iceland is an adventurer’s paradise with an impressive array of activities and experiences to sample. From azure lagoons to powerful geysers; volcanic peaks to dazzling glaciers; and thundering waterfalls to dancing lights in the sky – Iceland truly is a wondrous assault on the senses yet only a few hours from London.
In the summer months its remarkable landscape is best explored on foot, and our Remote Iceland walking holiday will get you up close to the natural hot pools, contorted rock formations and solidified lava fields that define Iceland’s stark dramatic beauty. North and eastern Iceland hold all the attractions of the better known south and west, but receive only a handful of the visitors. The remote Troll Peninsula, the geological wonderland of Lake Myvatn, the rugged beauty of Borgarfjörður Eystri and spectacular waterfalls at Godafoss
Even in winter, when ice and snow transforms the landscape, it’s still possible to walk or snowshoe during the short days before staring, transfixed at the night skies, waiting hopefully for an appearance of the unforgettable Northern Lights. And no trip to Iceland would be complete without a dip in thermal baths. Enjoy all these Icelandic delights on our Northern Lights & Winter Walks trip.View our holidays here
