Luxury Lodges to Machu Picchu
This introductory video to our Luxury Lodge trek in Peru will give you a great insight into what to expect on this superb trekking holiday and leave you wanting more.
Prior to your trek, you will have time to acclimatise and explore several important Inca sites in the vibrant mountain city of Cuzco and the nearby Sacred Valley including the earthworks at Moray, Ollantaytambo, Sacsayhuaman and Pisac.
Right from the start of your trek you will follow high mountain trails through wonderfully varied scenery of cloud forest and hanging glaciers, with the beautiful sacred mountain of Salakantay guiding your way. There is much to see en route and expert guides will share their in-depth knowledge pointing out the flora and fauna and explaining the geological forces that created the spectacular landscape.
Reaching the Salakantay pass is the high point of your trek and you will have a great sense of achievement when you make it to the top. Distant views of Machu Picchu, across the valleys and ridges of the Vilcabamba, will also provide a memorable moment.
Nightly stops are at well-appointed lodges, staffed by local people, where delicious food and drinks, super-comfortable rooms and even a hot tub with a view help aid relaxation after a hard day on the trail.
The holiday ends with time at the incomparable Inca city of Machu Picchu.
