Gentle Trekking & Luxury Lodges, Annapurna Foothills

If you’re considering our gentle trekking holiday in the foothills of the magnificent Annapurnas, this video will give you a real flavour of the route, the lodges and the breathtaking scenery.

The holiday begins and ends with sightseeing in Kathmandu where you will explore the key sights amidst the hustle and bustle of the central district of Thamel. You will also visit the ancient cities of Patan and Bhaktapur in the Kathmandu Valley replete with ancient temples and palaces and where Newari craftsmanship is still practiced. Whilst in Kathmandu you will also have the option of taking a sightseeing flight of Mount Everest.

Accommodation in Kathmandu is in Dwarika’s – a stylish five-star heritage hotel with a relaxing courtyard, pool and top quality Nepalese restaurant.

A short flight takes you from the frenetic energy of Kathmandu to the tranquil lakeside town of Pokhara - where you meet your guides and porters - and from there it’s a scenic drive along the fertile Seti river valley to the start of the trek. As you will see on the video, the trek takes a leisurely pace with constantly unfolding views of mountains, valleys and serene rivers. The trail takes you through numerous Nepali villages with opportunities for encounters with local children as well as Gurkha heroes. Led by expert local guides, you will learn much about the culture, traditions, history and flora and fauna of the enchanting Annapurnas.

The four lodges you stay in during your trek all enjoy a very high level of comfort and offer an exemplary level of service and care. Built and staffed by the local people they provide a haven of luxury at the end of each day on the trail. The well-appointed double rooms all have en-suite bathrooms and running hot water; delicious meals, made from local ingredients, are provided in the convivial dining area. Perfectly situated, you will never be far from a spectacular view or an unforgettable Himalayan sunrise.
