Destination: Tanzania

Tanzania offers the adventurous traveller a huge range of holiday options for all activity levels, from summiting Africa's tallest mountain, Kilimanjaro, to soaking up the sun on a beach on the spice island of Zanzibar.

To see an abundance of wildlife, the plains of the Serengeti and the majestic Ngorongoro Crater are undoubtedly amongst the finest wildlife havens anywhere in the world.  Herds of zebra, impala and elephant are commonplace and lions, giraffe, buffalo and hyena are also readily sighted.  There may even be an elusive leopard to be seen resting in a tree. You can explore the Serengeti by vehicle or on a walking safari.

Accommodation ranges from simple camping on a Kilimanjaro trek to luxury walk-in tents in the Serengeti. There are some wonderfully luxurious hotels in Zanzibar to enjoy, which are particularly welcoming after a strenuous trek.

You can read further information about the climate and the best time to visit Tanzania here.

Meet our Tanzania holiday experts

Seraphina Berry

Seraphina Berry

Reservations Manager

Seraphina handles all of our incoming bookings and insurance matters. She has traveled extensively, leading treks in Bhutan, Tibet, Northern India, Ladakh and Nepal, where she instigated our now popular Family Trek. Seraphina has also undertaken reconnaissance trips for MK in Sri Lanka, Tanzania, Peru and Japan, and has climbed Stok Kangri and Kilimanjaro. When on holiday though, there's nothing she enjoys more than trekking in the Alps.

Liz Noakes

Liz Noakes

Operations Manager

Liz has worked for many years leading treks all over the mountains of the world. She runs and hikes in her spare time and loves anywhere wild, remote and un-populated. She is hard pushed to pick a favourite destination as there are too many amazing places - the Himalaya, New Zealand, the Arctic and Switzerland are definitely ‘up there’ though.
