Day 1-2 Fly to Kathmandu and transfer to Dwarika’s heritage hotel

Full day’s sightseeing tour of the Kathmandu valley including Swaymbanuth Temple, Durbar Square and the ancient city of Bakhtapur – now a World Heritage Site.

Fly on to Pokhara, the beautiful lakeside capital of the Annapurna region.

Day 5 You begin your trek by walking to Sanctuary Lodge at Birethanti. You will pass through fertile fields and charming villages where you may meet the local Gurkha people famed for their service in the British Army.

There are quite a lot of steps to climb today but there will be ample time to rest and enjoy the beautiful views and interesting sights. You will undoubtedly see villagers working the fields and weaving cloth using traditional methods. As you climb upwards you will gain spectacular views until eventually reaching your lodge in the village of Ghandruk – the highest point of your trek at 2,012m/6,600ft.

Your day begins early so you can see an unforgettable sunrise over the surrounding mountains including Machhapuchare – the Fishtail peak. The rest of the day is spent exploring the local area in the company of your knowledgeable guide.

Day 8 It’s mainly downhill today, past crop-filled terraces and tiny villages. You will arrive back at Sanctuary Lodge for a welcome lunch break and then continue on until you reach Gurung Lodge built along the lines of a traditional Nepalese village.

More beautiful views and interesting villages to see, as you walk to Basanta Lodge at Dhampus which is centered around an old Gurung village house with landscaped terraced gardens and panoramic views of ‘Fish Tail’ Peak. In the afternoon you will go for a walk through the old village of Dhampus.

Just a short walk this morning to reach the road from where you will be driven back to Pokhara. Your accommodation tonight is at Fishtail Lodge which can only be reached by a short boat ride across the lake.

Day 11 Drive to the village of Damauli - the put-in point for the rafts on the Mardi River, a tributary of the Seti. After stowing your gear, getting equipped with safety gear, and learning how to raft you will set off. You will paddle through minor rapids along a beautiful river gorge, catching glimpses of village life as you drift by and stopping for lunch at a small beach. You spend the night at a luxury river camp where there is happy hour and an excellent meal to enjoy.

After a final morning on the river, with some higher grade rapids, you drive back to Kathmandu for a final night at Dwarika's hotel before flying home.

This itinerary includes exploring the main cultural sights of Bhutan, such as Taktsang Monastery, on foot, combined with a short trek in the Everest region of Nepal. This trip has been designed so that it is possible to stay in comfortable tourist-class hotels and lodges throughout, or in luxury accommodation.

Drive to Punakha. Walk to & visit the Divine Madman’s Temple. Day walk and visit Punakka Dzong.

Drive over Pele La to Kipche. Walk up from village, over the pass and through a forest to Gangtey gompa. Drive to Paro. Walk to Taktsang Monastery and other Paro Valley sightseeing.

Fly to Kathmandu. Overnight at the luxury heritage hotel, Dwarika's. Fly to Lukla (gateway to the Everest region). Trek to Monjo.

Day 12-14 Trek to Namche Bazaar, the Sherpa capital. Trek to Trashingna. Trek to Thyangboche Monastery or to Mong La and return to Trashingna.
15-16
Trek back to Lukla via Monjo.
17-19
Fly to Kathmandu. Sightseeing and souvenir shopping. Transfer to the airport for flight home.
