Mount Everest Flight

While in Kathmandu, why not experience the spectacular sight of Mount Everest? Instead of trekking for days to gain a good view of this must-see landmark you could see it in under an hour! We fly with either Buddha Air or Mountain Air who both operate modern Raytheon Beechcraft 1900 aircraft. These hold between 16 and 18 people and as the seating is only two abreast everyone is guaranteed a window seat.

The flight takes you out of the Kathmandu valley. As you ascend you can see the sights of Swayambhunath (the monkey temple) and Bodhnath Stupas. You soon gain height and begin to see views of 8000m giants; Makalu, Kanchenjunga, Cho Oyu and Lhotse as well as literally hundreds of other peaks, spires and pinnacles.

After 20 minutes in the air, Everest comes into view and you will all be invited up to the cockpit to talk to the captain, who will point out some of the famous peaks.

The aircraft cruises at a height of 25,000 feet (below the peak of Everest which stands at 29,028 feet/8,848 m). You come within 5 nautical miles of the giant peak..

Rafting on the Seti River

Why not extend your adventure in Nepal by sampling the excitement of river rafting along the Seti River?

River rafting is one of the most exciting ways of exploring Nepal’s ancient cultures and unspoilt landscapes. Only by rafting can you travel leisurely through the varied terrain exploring scenery inaccessible to all but the river runner.

The rivers of Nepal plunge through narrow gorges, course through lush tropical jungles and meander through the plains of the Terai. On your river journey you pass through a continually changing, verdant landscape, past ancient cultures and diverse people. The serenity of floating the river’s gentle stretches, combined with the exhilaration of shooting mild whitewater rapids, combines to provide a unique experience amid spectacular scenery. The guides we use are trained to international rafting standards and their knowledge of local history, nature and cultures provides an extra dimension.

Day 1 Drive from Kathmandu to Damauli, 162 km, and commence rafting. Overnight camp at Gagantar.

Day 2 Continue rafting to Gaighat. After lunch, drive back to Kathmandu. Overnight hotel (cost included)
