The perfect two-week holiday to Bhutan combining an excellent five-day trek with a chance to experience the fascinating culture, people and places of the ‘Kingdom of the Thunder Dragon’.

The ancient Druk Path links the major Bhutanese cultural centres of Paro and Thimphu. The path travels through virgin forest, along mountain ridges and past beautiful mountain lakes and isolated settlements. However this is no gentle stroll, as each day you’ll be trekking at over 3,000 metres/10,000ft and have the 4,210m/13,812ft Simkota La to cross before your final descent to Bhutan’s capital “city,” Thimphu.

After spending some time in Thimphu you drive eastward to stay in the lush Punakha valley; site of the celebrated Punakha Dzong. After a visit here and a short walk to discover the temple of the “Divine Madman”, you head back west to round of your trip in style – with a trek up to the magnificent Tiger’s Nest Monastery of Taksang.
