Not only does this homestay trek offer a unique opportunity to get to know the local people, we are also directly contributing to their village community fund, providing a valuable income to local families and helping to conserve local wildlife, including the elusive snow leopard.

The trip starts with a sensational flight from Delhi across the Greater Himalaya, followed by several days of acclimatisation and sightseeing in the Indus valley. Following the more moderate route into the Markha Valley from Chilling, we quickly immerse ourselves in Markha village life with a warm Ladakhi welcome from our homestay hosts. The trek climbs up through gorges and traditional Ladakhi villages, to the high altitude rolling yak pastures of Nimaling, crossing the Kongmaru La, 5,200m/17,056ft, with superb mountain views towards the Karakoram and Tibet.
