Annapurna Trekking, Nepal
The Annapurna massif is perhaps the most astonishing and unforgettable
mountain range in the Himalayas. There are seven major peaks in the
region, including Annapurna I, the tenth highest mountain in the world,
and at the centre of the massif is the Annapurna Sanctuary, a beautiful
glacial plateau ringed by mountains. The walking country in and around
this mountain range is simply spectacular – it is no surprise that
trekking in the Annapurnas are amongst the most highly regarded walking
holidays in the world.
With Mountain Kingdoms, you have plenty of options for Annapurna trekking. Our magnificent Annapurna Circuit Trek,
which circumnavigates the huge Annapurna Massif, is one of the classic
walks in Nepal. It is often said that if you aim to do just one trek in
the Himalayas, then the Annapurna Circuit is the one to complete.
Other outstanding Annapurna treks offered by Mountain Kingdoms include the Annapurna Sanctuary Trek, which takes us into the glacial plateau at the heart of the Annapurna Mountains, and our Mini Annapurna Circuit,
which hits the highlights of the circuit within a shorter space of
time. Mountain Kingdoms also offer luxury lodge trips and family
friendly adventures in the area – see below for full details on all our
itineraries in this region.
There is plenty to see and do away from the mountains themselves.
Kathmandu's bazaars, temples, shopping and famous restaurants can be
sampled before and after every Annapurna trek, and you can extend your
Annapurna trekking holiday by opting for rafting on the Seti River. If
you’d like a more sedate extension, you might choose to visit the
Kathmandu Valley and stay in our pretty cottage on the edge of the
Shivapuri National Park. For those who want to see some wildlife, the
Chitwan National Park Safari may be the perfect way to round off your
Annapurna Circuit trek. Finally, a Mount Everest flight offers
unforgettable and spectacular views of Everest and Everest Base Camp.
Whatever you want from your trek in the Annapurnas and your trip to
Nepal, Mountain Kingdoms can put together the ideal trekking holiday for
you.
